Department
The Department of Planning Research and Statistics as the name implies, is responsible for corporate and strategic planning, conducting research activities and keeping statistical data and information in the State Education Sector.
The Department is sub-divided into 9 units:

Initiation and Monitoring of Projects: Construction, Rehabilitation and Provision of Furniture for Secondary Schools. | |

Land sub-Unit of the Planning attends to problems of encroachment on School Lands and documentation of School land records. Also, represent the Ministry on legal matters relating to school lands | |
Coordination of issues emanating from encroachment and Land Matters in public schools. | |
Acquisition of land for the establishment of Public Schools | |
Research and Statistics | |
Conduct of Annual School Census for Public Secondary Schools and all Private Schools and input of data into the EMIS Centre | |
Collation and analysing of WASSCE and NECO SSCE results. | |
Preparation of Annual Budget Estimate for the Ministry | |
Participation in UNICEF activities in relation to Statistical Data | |
Preparation of Grants for Ministry Demonstration Schools. | |
Sourcing for Government’s collaboration with International Development Partners (IDPs) e.g., World Bank, DFID, UNIDO, USAID, etc. | |
Coordinating World Bank programmes/projects such as BESDA AF-TESS. |
